WHAT IS THE PATIENT LIBRARY SERVICE?

The Patient Library provides access to reliable and up to date
health information for patients and famlies served by River Valley Health.

WHAT RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE?

* an up-to-date collection of health related books, pamphlets and magazines

* computer database Health Reference Centre, containing over 500 medical education pamphlets, five leading medical reference books and full text information from an assortment of consumer-oriented magazines and newsletters

* information on self-help groups, and community and provincial health organizations

WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

* Walk In
Patients and families are encouraged to visit the Patient Library at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital

* Telephone
For those unable to visit our collection, telephone service is available. Information packages can be prepared for mailing or pick up.

* Referrals
The information you require may not be available in the Patient Library collection, so staff will suggest referrals to other hospital resources, or health organizations for information.
